The firm has counseled corporate and individual clients on water and other environmental matters for three decades.  The firm has extensive experience in all areas of federal, state and local environmental compliance, including permitting, regulatory and litigation.  The environmental department has represented clients before the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in each of its District offices, the Federal Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Justice, Florida Water Management District offices, and various local environmental agencies, including Hillsborough County Environmental Protection Commission, the Pinellas County Public Health Unit and the Dade County Environmental Management.

Members of the firm’s environmental department have extensive experience and assist clients with Clean Water Act compliance and permitting matters.  They are knowledgeable in the numerous water-related issues that arise from every region of Florida, including water quality, well field supply, potable water, preservation and restoration of riverine systems, flooding and sovereignty lands.  They have handled complex environmental compliance and permitting issues and have litigated these matters.  The department has managed and counseled environmental assessments and cleanups related to real estate transactions.  The department works closely with landowners, developers, lending institutions and environmental consultants in conducting site assessments and compliance audits.  The department promotes proactivity in the prevention of environmental discharge events and noncompliance at industrial facilities.  The department also works with lending institutions to avoid environmental liabilities in connection with loan agreements.
